How to Display Weavings

If you have a beautiful weaving that is sitting around collecting dust or is a valuable art item, there are ways to display it so that you can share it with the world. A weaving makes a visually appealing accent in a room. It attracts attention and allows you to use your creative decorating skills. Weavings vary in size, so tools and materials needed for display will differ.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a large weaving on the floor as a rug, using the correct size rug pad for the weaving.

    • 2

Attach your weaving to particle board that is hung on the wall. First, hang the particle board by using nails or attaching an art hanger to the back with a screwdriver. This will allow the particle board to gently hang from the wall.

    • 3

Attach self-adhesive Velcro strips, hook side, to the board. Place four strips around all edges of the board and three strips horizontally in the main section of the board so that the weaving hangs properly. Attach the weaving directly to the Velcro strips.

    • 4

Utilize the same method for an older weaving, except you will need to hand-sew the other side of the Velcro strips, the loop side, to the weaving first. Sew them on in the same places where you will be attaching them to the particle board on the wall using a gentle tacking stitch.

    • 5

Attach self-adhesive Velcro to a pre-stretched canvas that is the same size as the weaving. Attach the weaving to the Velcro and place the canvas into a frame. This creates a slightly more professional-looking display.
