Acquire wheat paste by either purchasing it at an arts supplies retailer or making wheat paste yourself with a little time and some inexpensive materials.
Make wheat paste by heating some water in a pot, then add to a separate container 3 tbsp. of flour for each cup of water you are heating.
Add enough cold water to to your flour to make a thin paste, then whisk the mixture so that no clumps remain. Very carefully pour in this paste into the heated water.
Stir constantly as you bring the pot's contents to a boil. The mixture will thicken, and once it starts to fully boil, remove the pot from the heat and add 1 tbsp. of sugar for each cup of water you initially heated.
Stir in the sugar. Allow the wheat paste to cool, and then pour the paste into a convenient container. A plastic squeeze bottle works nicely.
Apply the wheat paste to the object you would like to use it on. Crafting ideas include collage, papier-mache, decoupage, and bookbinding. If you have put the wheat paste into a plastic squeeze bottle, simply squeeze some onto whatever object you are gluing. You may also fully submerge a piece of paper into the wheat paste, or fully cover both sides of a piece of paper with the paste, and then apply the paper to an object and press out any excess paste.
Press together firmly the objects you are adhering and then allow at least a few hours for the paste to completely set.
