What are the materials and costumes of la jota moncadena?

The materials used in the making of the joca moncadena's costumes are generally high-quality fabrics, like silk blend or velvet for skirts, and brocade for the bolero. The boleros are usually trimmed with fine lace or appliques. The skirts also feature a contrasting colored lining adding an extra layer of depth to the overall look. The fabrics used for the costumes may vary depending on the region of Moncayo, but the colors, patterns, and design elements remain true to the tradition.

Traditional male performers wear loose linen pantalones (knee-length trousers), a white cotton shirt, a colorful faja (waistband), a waistcoat or a short bolero, and a colorful pañuelo (headscarf).

Female dancers wear a full-length, multicolored skirt, a cotton blouse, a fitted bodice, a shawl, a colorful pañuelo, and sometimes an apron.

The costumes are embellished with sequins, ribbons, lace, and embroidery, representing the village's craftsmanship.
