How to Use Iwata HP-B Plus

Creating art such as a mural or painting a wall with an elaborate design can be difficult if you are using a standard brush and paint. An airbrush will allow you to paint on a large surface faster and keep the area cleaner. The Iwata HP-B Plus is a model of airbrush that uses a compressor to spray paint onto the surface. You will need to connect this airbrush to the compressor before you can begin using it.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the air hose onto the outlet of the compressor by turning the attachment ring clockwise until it locks into place. Attach the other end of the air hose to the inlet on the air brush using the same method. Turn on the compressor and check for any leaks along the length of the hose.

    • 2

Squirt a few drops of cleaning solution and water mixture into the airbrush's bowl and swirl it around for a moment. Point the airbrush away from you and press down on the main lever to activate the airbrush. The solution and water will run through the brush and clean out any paint residue. Release the lever when no more water is coming out.

    • 3

Add the color that you want to use to the bowl of the airbrush. Note that you will need to rinse out the airbrush with cleaning solution and water before you add a new paint color, so complete all of the work you need to do with this particular color before you change colors.

    • 4

Push down on the main lever to start airflow to the air brush. Place the tip of the airbrush between 1/16 and 1/2 inches away from the surface you want to paint. When you are ready, pull the main lever back toward you to begin spraying paint. When you are finished painting a specific area, push the main lever back into its original position to stop the flow.
