Place your DesignMaster projector on a flat surface and then open the door to expose the interior.
Position and install the mirror. Carefully pick up the mirror and remove the film protecting its silver front surface. Holding the mirror by its edges, slowly slide the wider end of the mirror, silver side facing up, along the ledge inside the unit and into the clip at the top. The narrow end of the mirror should angle downward with its edge near the metal clip. Push down on the back of the clip to open its slot and then carefully slide the narrow end into the opening.
Screw in the included 250-watt (U.S.) or 275-watt (England and Australia) incandescent light bulb, then slide the projector's lens into the barrel and close the projector door.
Prepare the stand---assemble and position---for clamping to a 1-1/2-inch or less flat surface if using the projector with its lens pointing vertically at the worktable. If using the projector with the lens pointing horizontally at a wall or another upright surface, proceed to Section 2. To assemble the stand, push the end of the lower column tube with the "locking knob" through the "U" shape of the clamp and clamp hole opposite the "T-screw"; then pull the entire tube through the hole. Position the clamp where you plan to work, and tighten the T-screw to clamp the lower half of the stand in place.
Slide the upper column tube into the lower column tube. Secure it by tightly screwing the locking knob.
Mount the projector onto the stand. Align the "mounting holes" on the back of the projector with the tabs on the upper column plate. Slide the mounting holes onto these tabs and then push down carefully on the projector to snap it onto the stand.
Attach your copy material to the copyboard using the two stainless steel clips or "copy bars." To attach, push on bar ends, lay your material on the copyboard and close the bars to secure.
Check the lens position and reload it in the barrel to use for reduction or enlargement of your copy material image as needed. For example, the projector can enlarge the image to 4 times the original (vertical projection) or 30 times the original (horizontal projection) if the word "enlarge" is visible after the lens is loaded in the barrel.
Plug in the unit, turn it on and then darken the room to begin working with the projected copy (tracing, painting or other copy technique).
