What weapons are available to train with in the hunger games?

The Hunger Games novels and movies don't explicitly list every single weapon available for training. However, we can piece together a list based on what we see and hear about:

Melee Weapons:

* Swords: These are mentioned as a staple training tool, and Katniss uses one in the Games.

* Knives: Daggers, throwing knives, and hunting knives are all essential tools for the tributes.

* Axes: These are less common but still present, like the one Katniss uses to clear the path in the Games.

* Spears: These are often used in the Games, but are less common in training due to their length.

* Clubs: Katniss uses a club to defend herself during the Games.

* Scythes: These are mentioned as a weapon, although their use is rare.

Ranged Weapons:

* Bows and Arrows: This is Katniss's weapon of choice and is heavily emphasized in the training.

* Slingshots: These are used in training and are shown to be a valuable weapon in the Games.

* Crossbows: These are mentioned but are more powerful and less common in training due to their weight and complexity.

* Throwing weapons: Including spears, javelins, and axes, are trained with but less common than the others.

Other Weapons:

* Nets: Used for trapping or restraining opponents.

* Snares: For catching animals or disabling an opponent.

* Fire: While not a weapon in itself, its use is common in the Games.

* Poisons: These can be used to contaminate food or water, or to create a weaponized poison dart or arrow.

Important Note:

The training weapons are not always identical to those used in the Games. For example, the training bows are lighter and less powerful than the real ones. The training arena also doesn't have the same dangers and environmental factors as the Games.

The specific weapons available for training might also vary from year to year, depending on the Gamemakers' whim.
