How to Control an iPod Touch via the Serial Port
Controlling an iPod Touch through the serial port provides a way to send information from your iPod Touch to a larger touchscreen device. The advantages to using a large touchscreen device are that you can more easily use your iPod Touch in the car for music, video and directions. Unless you have a computer or a serial touchscreen device, you won't be able to control your iPod Touch with just a serial port. Additionally, the serial port only allows transfer of audio information; you will need to use Bluetooth or wireless connections to transfer video.
