Place an ad in the paper detailing the time and place of the bazaar and a couple of examples as to what potential customers may discover. Larger ads are more easily noticed.
Contact local newspapers to find out if they can send a reporter to cover your event. A brief story about your bazaar and its goals can often send new customers your way.
Post flyers around the community or city in which the bazaar will be held starting about two weeks from the event. Building awareness of the event is critical if you’d like to see community participation.
Run advertisements on online classified boards. These are usually free to post and viewed by hundreds of visitors each day.
Contact local organizations that may have an interest in your event. For example, if your bazaar features work by local artists, find an online community of artists or a nearby gallery and ask for help promoting the event.
Build a website for the bazaar and put the web address on all of your promotional materials. Your site can detail the history of the event, the types of things that will be for sale, fun events or shows at the bazaar, press information and directions to the event. The more resources you give potential attendees, the easier it is for them to make it to your bazaar.
