Did Shakespeare followed the Elizabethan structure of a four-act play?

Shakespeare's plays typically consist of five acts, not four, and follow a structure known as the "five-act structure." Most of his plays conform to this structure, although there are a few exceptions, such as "The Merry Wives of Windsor," which has four acts.
