Why were there lots of twin actors in shakespeares play?
There weren't lots of twin actors in Shakespeare's plays. In fact, there are only two plays that feature twins: The Comedy of Errors and Twelfth Night. In both of these plays, the twins are used to create confusion and mistaken identity. In The Comedy of Errors, the twins are separated at birth and grow up in different households. When they meet again as adults, they are not recognized by each other and this leads to a series of comical misunderstandings. In Twelfth Night, the twins Viola and Sebastian are separated by a shipwreck. Viola disguises herself as a man and takes on the name Sebastian. This leads to even more confusion and mistaken identity.
