Who were the conspirators who killed Caesar?

The main conspirators in the assassination of Julius Caesar were:

1. Marcus Junius Brutus: A prominent Roman senator and close friend of Caesar. Brutus was known for his integrity and love for Rome. He was persuaded to join the conspiracy by Cassius and other senators who feared Caesar's growing power.

2. Gaius Cassius Longinus: A respected senator and a skilled military leader. Cassius had a personal grudge against Caesar because Caesar had confiscated his property. He was the main driving force behind the conspiracy and played a crucial role in convincing others to join.

3. Decimus Junius Brutus Albinus: Another senator and a relative of Marcus Brutus. Decimus Brutus was a trusted friend of Caesar and had served as his legate. However, he was also concerned about Caesar's ambitions and joined the conspiracy against him.

4. Gaius Trebonius: A senator and a supporter of Pompey, a rival of Caesar. Trebonius had been captured by Caesar during the civil war but was later pardoned. Despite Caesar's kindness, he joined the conspiracy, viewing it as an opportunity to restore the republic.

5. Publius Servilius Casca Longus: A senator who was known for his hatred of tyranny. Casca was one of the first conspirators to strike Caesar, delivering a blow to his shoulder.

6. Lucius Minucius Basilus: A senator who was part of the group of conspirators. Basilus was responsible for preventing anyone from coming to Caesar's aid during the assassination.

In addition to these main conspirators, several other senators and Roman citizens were involved in the plot against Caesar. The conspirators acted collectively to ensure Caesar's death and the restoration of the Roman Republic.
