How to Make Fake Wrinkled Skin

Making your own fake wrinkled skin like you see in the movies is a simple project compared to other high budget prosthetics and effects. Liquid latex is used for many different projects when it comes to special effect makeup; when dried, it looks and feels like real skin. Simply allowing some liquid latex to dry on your skin will cause the skin to severely wrinkle. This is because the latex starts to shrink as it loses moisture in the drying process.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Shake the bottle of liquid latex to mix it.

    • 2

Lay out a paper towel so that any latex that is accidentally spilled does not ruin your carpet or furniture.

    • 3

Working over the paper towel, pour some liquid latex onto a foam brush and apply a thin layer to your skin where you would like to wrinkle the skin.

    • 4

Allow the latex to dry for 15 minutes. You will notice the skin under the latex starting to wrinkle during this process.

    • 5

Watch the color of the liquid latex, it will be applied white and you will know it is fully dry when it turns clear.
