Place one sheet of newspaper in front of you so that it is vertical.
Fold the top half of the newspaper down on top of the bottom half. Make sure the corners at the bottom line up.
Bring the top left and top right corners down until a point forms in the middle of the newspaper. Press the edges down until they are smooth.
Fold the front strip at the bottom of the hat up. Then flip the pirate hat over and fold that bottom strip up.
Decorate the pirate hat by drawing a skull and crossbones on the front of the hat with a permanent marker.
