How to Dress Like a Granny

The term "granny" is short for "grandmother" and people often use it to refer to any elderly woman. While elderly women are all individuals, common garment and fashion trends do abound with this age and gender group as they have similar needs for comfort and stability. If you need to dress like a granny for Halloween, a stage play or film, approaching the task strategically and realistically will ensure that you have an accurate costume.

  • Long flowered pastel skirt
  • Loose white button down blouse
  • Baggy gray or muted pink cardigan
  • Glasses and chain or necklace
  • Pocket watch necklace

      Put on a long, loose pastel floral skirt that comes down to your ankles. Add a loose, button down blouse in white. Tuck it into your skirt in a loose manner.
