How to Dress Like an Old Southern Gentleman
A loose-fitting suit in cool linen allowed an old Southern gentlemen to keep his cool on a hot day. Photos of Mark Twain often show him in light-colored, loose-fitting suits. Complete your look by drawing on wrinkles with a grease-paint pencil and graying your hair with powder or spray-on temporary color. You can even add a bushy gray mustache.
