2. Alexander the Great (356–323 BC)

* Conquest of the Persian Empire: Alexander led his armies on a massive conquest, defeating the Persian Empire and spreading Greek culture across a vast territory. He established cities named after himself and fostered cultural exchange.

3. Leonidas I (c. 540–480 BC)

* Heroic Stand at Thermopylae: Leonidas led a small Spartan force against the massive Persian army at Thermopylae. Despite being outnumbered, they held the Persians at bay for three days, buying valuable time for the Greeks to prepare for the larger war. This sacrifice became legendary.
