Why NCIS members on TV wear uniforms?

NCIS agents in the TV series *NCIS*, *NCIS: Los Angeles*, *NCIS: New Orleans*, and *NCIS: Hawai'i* wear uniforms for a few reasons:

* Visual Identification: The uniforms clearly identify them as members of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. This helps with their authority and makes it easier for people to recognize them.

* Professionalism: The uniforms project a sense of order, professionalism, and competence, which is important for their job.

* Branding: The uniforms also serve as a brand for the NCIS, helping to distinguish them from other law enforcement agencies.

* Continuity: The uniforms provide a visual consistency across the different teams and locations, helping to maintain continuity within the franchise.

It's important to note that, in reality, NCIS agents do not typically wear uniforms. They generally wear business casual attire while on duty, although they might wear tactical gear if the situation requires it. However, the TV shows' choice to have them in uniform is a creative decision meant to enhance the visual aspects of the show and make the agents more recognizable.
