Was the globe theatre name changed?
The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London that was built in 1599 and was associated with the acting company of William Shakespeare, the Lord Chamberlain's Men, which later became the King's Men. The original Globe Theatre was destroyed by fire in 1613, and a second Globe Theatre was built on the same site in 1614. This second Globe Theatre was closed in 1642 due to the English Civil War, and it was demolished in 1644. A modern reconstruction of the Globe Theatre, known as Shakespeare's Globe, was opened in 1997 on the south bank of the River Thames in London. The name of the Globe Theatre has not changed since its original construction.
