In what year were women allowed to perform on the stage?
There is evidence to suggest that women have been performing on stage since ancient Greece. However, for much of history, women were not allowed to perform on stage in many cultures, including in Europe. In the 16th century, women began to perform on stage in Italy, and by the 17th century, they were performing in France and England as well. However, it was not until the 19th century that women were allowed to perform on stage in most major cities around the world.
