What is DFACEG in choir?

The letters DFACG are used to represent the notes of the solfège system. They are assigned to the notes of the major scale, starting with the first note, do, and continuing up the scale to the seventh note, ti.

These letters are used to help choir members learn to sight-read music. By associating a letter with each note, they can easily identify the pitch of a note without having to first figure out the solfège name.

The letters DFACG are also used to help choir members learn to sing in harmony. By understanding the relationship between the notes of the scale, they can more easily find the correct pitch for their part.
