Open MS Word. Click on the "File" menu at the top of the screen and scroll down and click "Page Setup" for Wood 2003 or click on the "Page Layout" tab and click on the "Page Layout" box for Word 2007. Click on the drop-down arrow under "Multiple Pages" and select "Book Fold." Click "OK."
Create a Text box on the first page by clicking on the "Insert" menu or tab and electing "Text Box." Resize the text box so it goes across the page horizontally and is about one inch high. Right-click on the text box and select "Format Text Box." Click on the "Colors and Lines" tab and change the fill color to yellow. Change the font to Baskerville Old Face (this is a True Type font that your computer should have) and type "PLAYBILL" in bold, capital letters in the text box. Center the text.
Insert an action picture related to your event on the first page and resize it to fill up the remaining space on the page. Add another text box and place the title of your event in the text box, over the picture. Manipulate the font type, size and color in the text box to get the feel you want.
Press the "Enter" key until you get to Page 3 of your booklet. This page will contain the basic event information. All of the type in this will be centered. For all of the type, use Baskerville Old Face except for the title of the event, which will be the font you picked for the event name on the cover. The top of the page will contain the information about who is "producing" the event. Follow that with the title of the event, which is followed by who is "Starring" in the event. These names are followed by other important people involved.
The next page is a listing of what will occur during the event. Place a title on the page, and then list what will occur and who will be doing it. Make sure to full-justify this text down the page so it goes to the margin on either side.
Add all the head shots of people who are involved with this event on the next pages. Click on the "Insert" menu and then click "Picture > From file." Add the pictures with the most important people on top and then move down from there. To get the pictures where you want them, click on the "Wrapping Style" button on the picture toolbar and select "Behind Text." Organize the pictures on the page the way you want them.
The last pages are filled with the biographies of all people involved in the event. Insert Text boxes following the procedure in Step 1 and insert everyone's bio. The biographies should be in the same order as the pictures, and usually follow a two-column format. You can size and move the text boxes to get them where they need to be. Biographies will have the name of the person all in caps and bold, followed by their role in the event in italics. The rest of the bio is in normal font. Again, use Baskerville Old Face for the font.
