DIY LED Stage Lights

Stage lights have progressed from the traditional incandescent bulbs, and manufacturers of stage lights are now offering a selection that includes the LED variety. Aside from the lower energy costs associated with using LED stage lights, they are likely to last far longer than incandescent bulbs. Also LEDs are available in a rainbow of colors, and multiple LEDs of different colors can be combined to create other colors. For those who desire portability, LED stage lights can be transported without the fear of having to replace a bulb broken while in transport.

Instructions

    • 1

Review all manuals associated with your equipment. Although LED stage lights pose little risk for circuit overloading, it's always best to review all product documentation thoroughly. This is also a good time to become familiar with how to set up various pieces of stage lighting equipment.

    • 2

Place the LED stage lights and power supply in the desired positions. Refer back to the user manual if necessary to be sure each light is set up properly. Also make sure the power supply is away from high traffic areas and any potential fire hazards, such as curtains.

    • 3

Connect the cables. Plug in the respective ends of each cable between the stage light and the power supply. Do this for all LED stage lights to be used.

    • 4

Test the lighting. Turn on the power supply and verify that all of your LED stage lights are working properly. Once they are, then you're ready for showtime.
