What does danforth think Mary appearance might be?

In the play _The Crucible_ by Arthur Miller, Deputy Governor Danforth and other magistrates examine Mary Warren while on trial due to accusations of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials.

Danforth thinks that her odd behaviors might be due to an affliction from witchcraft or the devil himself.

He believes that witches could cause others to be afflicted without directly harming them, often just by bewitching others and causing illnesses through malevolent actions or curses from evil entities.
