Where did Goo Dolls get there name?

Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac formed the band in 1986. They chose the name "Goo Dolls" after they were inspired by an ad shown in a movie for the wax product Goody's Headache Powder, sold in the early 20th century. The product itself made exaggerated medicinal claims, such as being able to cure all forms of headaches, including even imaginary ones.
