Pick a genre and length for your skit while considering the age and maturity level of the actors. For example, an elementary school skit would be much shorter than a high school or university skit.
Write your story line and conduct research to ensure accuracy. Include a beginning, middle with rising action, and an end or climax to the skit.
Assign characters to the skit who you or someone else will cast actors to play.
Include setting and background information at the start of each new scene within your skit to give producers and directors direction.
Recruit friends to read through the skit as assigned characters.
Make any changes needed to the skit after the read through to ensure the skit’s dialogue is accurate and is the appropriate length.
