Why does Malcolm accuse himself of various vices before Macduff in the iii scene act IV play

Malcolm does not accuses himself of any vices to Machuff. In a conversation, Macduff calls him tyrant (i.e., a cruel and unjust ruler.), swearer, drunkard, liar, etc. But Malcolm rejects that he has the mentioned qualities
