Early life
Aaron Yan was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and raised in a single-parent family. He has a younger brother named Alan Yan. Yan attended and graduated from the Hwa Kang Arts School.
Career
Debut and acting career
Yan entered the entertainment industry after winning a talent show at the age of 15. He made his acting debut in the 2002 television series "My MVP Valentine" and subsequently appeared in several other drama series, including "KO One Return", "It Started With a Kiss", and "Devil Beside You".
In 2005, Yan joined the boy band Fahrenheit alongside Wu Chun, Calvin Chen, and Jiro Wang. The group released their debut album, "Fahrenheit", in the same year and quickly achieved commercial success.
Yan continued to balance his acting and singing careers throughout the 2000s. He starred in several popular television dramas, including "Romantic Princess" (2007), "Miss No Good" (2008), and "My Queen" (2009). He also released multiple solo albums, including "The Next Me" (2009) and "The Moment" (2010).
Departure from Fahrenheit and focus on acting
In 2011, Yan left Fahrenheit to pursue a solo career. He continued to act in television dramas and movies, including "Just You" (2013), "Fall In Love With Me" (2014), and "The Perfect Match" (2016).
In 2018, Yan made his directorial debut with the short film "The Granny". He also starred in the web series "HIStory3: Trapped" and "HIStory4: Close To You" in 2019.
Music career
As a solo artist, Yan has released six studio albums, including "The Next Me" (2009), "The Moment" (2010), "33" (2013), "Drama" (2014), "The_Anniversary" (2016), and "Be_Myself" (2019). He has also embarked on several solo concert tours, including the "The Next Me World Tour" (2009-2010) and the "Drama World Tour" (2014-2015).
Other ventures
In addition to his acting and singing career, Yan is also involved in various other business ventures. He has launched his fashion label, "AAY", and published several books, including his autobiography, "Aaron Yan: The Next Me" (2009). He has also served as a spokesperson for numerous brands, including Pepsi, Uniqlo, and Skechers.
Awards and recognition
Yan has received numerous awards and recognition for his work, including Golden Bell Awards, HITO Music Awards, and MTV Asia Awards. He was also named one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" of Taiwanese pop music, alongside Jay Chou, Wang Leehom, and Show Luo.
