What part does Stephen Fry play in The Hobbit?

Stephen Fry does not appear in the film adaptations of *The Hobbit* (either the *An Unexpected Journey* or *The Desolation of Smaug*).

He is, however, known for voicing the character of The Narrator in the BBC Radio adaptation of *The Hobbit*, which aired in 2007. He also voiced The Bard in the BBC Radio adaptation of *The Lord of the Rings*.
