What did the Drummer Boy do after Battle?

After the Battle of Bunker Hill, the Drummer Boy, whose real name was William Diamond, was praised for his bravery and given the rank of an officer. He went on to serve in the Continental Army throughout the Revolutionary War and distinguished himself in several battles, including the Battle of Saratoga and the Siege of Yorktown. After the war, he returned to his home in Massachusetts, where he became a respected member of the community and served in various public offices, including as a selectman and a justice of the peace. He passed away in 1829 at the age of 81.
