What happened to the globe theater 1613?
In 1613, the Globe Theatre in London was destroyed in a fire during a performance of Henry VIII. The fire is said to have started when a cannon, used as a special effect, misfired and set the thatched roof alight. The fire quickly spread and the entire theatre was destroyed, including the actors' costumes and props and the manuscript of William Shakespeare's next play, Cardenio. The only thing left standing was the theatre's stone foundations, which can still be seen today.
