The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with the acting company the Lord Chamberlain's Men, of which William Shakespeare was a member. The theatre was built in the spring of 1599 by a company of actors including Shakespeare, financed by partners including Cuthbert Burbage, Richard Burbage, William Shakespeare, Thomas Pope, and Augustine Phillips.
