Seiya is a character from the *Sailor Moon* spin-off series *Codename: Sailor V*, which focuses on the adventures of Minako Aino (Sailor Venus) before she meets the other Sailor Guardians. While Seiya does appear in the *Sailor Moon* anime, he's not introduced as a character in the main series.
