Adam Cartwright was one of the four sons in the Cartwright family. He was played by Pernell Roberts, who left the show after the end of the sixth season in 1965. He was replaced by Michael Landon, who played Little Joe, as the fourth son.
While Roberts's character, Adam, was written out of the show, he was never seen in an episode after his departure.
