How did the anasazi cook food?

The Ancestral Pueblo people, also known as the Anasazi, cooked their food in a variety of ways, including baking, roasting, and boiling.

- Baking: The Anasazi used outdoor ovens, called "hornos," to bake bread, tortillas, and other foods. Hornos were typically made of clay and were heated with wood or charcoal.

- Roasting: Many foods were simply roasted over an open fire like meats and vegetables were cooked on skewers or in clay pots as well.

- Boiling: The Anasazi did not have metal pots, but they used clay pots called "ollas" to boil water and cook stews and soups. Ollas were often placed directly into fires, and the food was stirred with wooden spoons or sticks.

- Steaming: The Anasazi made use of pits in the ground by making "earth ovens" to cook with and would line the pit with heated rocks and fill the pit with various food and then cover the entire thing until they were done.
