What are the three purposes?

1. To inform: to provide the reader with information about a particular topic. Informative writing is often found in textbooks, articles, and documentaries.

2. To persuade: to convince the reader to adopt a particular point of view or take a particular action. Persuasive writing is often found in advertisements, editorials, and political speeches.

3. To entertain: to provide the reader with enjoyment. Entertaining writing is often found in novels, short stories, poems, and plays.
