What was Macbeth?

Macbeth was the Thane of Glamis, a Scottish nobleman who became King of Scotland after murdering King Duncan. He was a brave and ambitious warrior but was also ruthless and power-hungry. His downfall came when he began to believe in the prophecies of the three witches who told him he would become king. He became paranoid and suspicious, and his reign was marked by violence and tyranny. He was eventually defeated by Macduff, a Scottish nobleman who avenged King Duncan's death.
