What is troubling Brutus?

Brutus is troubled by the prospect of having to betray and kill his friend and benefactor, Julius Caesar, in order to prevent him from becoming a dictator and destroying the Roman Republic. Brutus is also struggling with the moral implications of his actions, as he is aware that assassinating Caesar would be considered an act of treason and would be met with severe consequences.
