* Biff Loman: Willy's older son. He is a former high school football star who has never been able to live up to his father's expectations. He is now a drifter who is unable to hold down a job.
* Happy Loman: Willy's younger son. He is a successful businessman, but he is also shallow and materialistic. He is unable to understand his brother's unhappiness or his father's decline.
* Charley: Willy's neighbor and friend. He is a successful businessman who has always been there for Willy. He is the only person who seems to understand Willy's pain and suffering.
* Bernard: Charley's son. He is a successful lawyer who has always looked up to Willy. He is the only person who seems to be able to see through Willy's facade and understand his true nature.
* The Woman: A beautiful woman who appears to Willy in a hallucination. She represents Willy's unattainable dreams and desires.
