How was King Lear betrayed?

King Lear was betrayed by his daughters, Goneril and Regan, who, after he divided his kingdom between them, turned against him. They lied to him. He was forced to leave his kingdom and wander the countryside in disguise. They plotted to kill him. Goneril and Regan were ambitious and wanted power, and they were willing to do whatever it took to get it.
