Who is the hero in good bad and ugly?

There is no single, clear-cut hero in the Sergio Leone film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The three main characters, 'Blondie' (Clint Eastwood), 'Angel Eyes' (Lee Van Cleef), and 'Tuco' (Eli Wallach), are morally ambiguous and engage in various morally questionable acts throughout the movie. While Blondie is often portrayed as the more honorable of the three, he is still motivated by his selfish desire for the gold. However, it can also be argued that Tuco, despite being a ruthless bandit, displays moments of loyalty and compassion towards Blondie. Ultimately, the complexity of their characters and the moral ambiguities of their actions prevent any of them from being definitively considered the "hero" of the story.
