What is an example of tragic flaw in

An example of a tragic flaw in literature is the character of Oedipus in the Greek tragedy "Oedipus Rex" by Sophocles. Oedipus is a strong and wise ruler who is loved and respected by his people. He is also a loving husband and father. However, Oedipus has one fatal flaw: he is cursed with a god's prophecy that he will one day kill his father and marry his mother. Oedipus tries to avoid his fate, but he ultimately fulfills the prophecy without knowing it. His tragic flaw is his hubris, or excessive pride, which leads him to believe he is more powerful than the gods.
