How is Macbeth presented at the start of play?

At the start of the play, Macbeth is presented as a brave and loyal Scottish general. He is introduced in the first scene of the play as he and his fellow general, Banquo, return from a successful battle against the Norwegian forces. Macbeth is praised by King Duncan for his valor in the battle, and he is given the title of Thane of Cawdor. This initial presentation of Macbeth establishes him as a noble and heroic figure, and it sets the stage for the tragic events that follow as Macbeth's ambition and desire for power lead him down a dark and destructive path.
