How did Elizabeth hurts her own defence in the crucible?

Abigail Williams accuses John Proctor of witchcraft, and Elizabeth Proctor defends her husband by testifying that Abigail is a liar and a prostitute. However, Elizabeth's testimony is ultimately damaging to her own defense because she is unable to provide any concrete evidence to support her claims. Additionally, Elizabeth's own reputation is called into question when Abigail accuses her of practicing witchcraft herself. As a result, Elizabeth's testimony is not only ineffective in defending her husband, but it also puts her own life in danger.
