What is the main role in The Monsters are Due on Maple Street?

There isn't one single main role in "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street". The play is an ensemble piece where every character contributes to the overall theme of fear, paranoia, and the dangers of mob mentality.

However, if we had to pick one character who might be considered the "lead" in terms of driving the plot, it would be Steve, the young man who initially suggests an alien presence on the street. His skepticism and accusations, although ultimately unfounded, set in motion the chain of events that leads to the downfall of the community.

While Steve is the catalyst, it's important to remember that every character, from the nervous Charlie to the seemingly calm Tommy, contributes to the escalating tensions and distrust. The play's focus is on the collective behavior of the community, and the role of each individual in that process.
