Why does Frankenstein leave the locket on Justine?

Frankenstein doesn't leave the locket on Justine.

It's William, the youngest of the Frankenstein children, who is found murdered with a locket around his neck. The locket is later found in Justine's possession, leading to her wrongful conviction for William's murder.

The locket plays a crucial role in the story, highlighting the following:

* Innocence and guilt: The locket symbolizes William's innocence and the unfair accusation against Justine.

* Misjudgment and prejudice: The locket becomes a piece of evidence used to wrongly condemn Justine, showcasing the dangers of prejudice and hasty judgments.

* The monster's cruelty: The monster's act of placing the locket on William after the murder demonstrates his cruelty and callous disregard for human life.

While Frankenstein is responsible for creating the monster and therefore indirectly for the tragedy, he himself does not directly interact with the locket or its significance.
