Why was The Rev of Avenged Sevenfold called Rev?

The Rev, whose real name is James Owen Sullivan, was called Rev because it was short for 'the reverend'. He got the nickname because he was always talking about religion and spirituality with friends, and he had an interest in becoming a preacher when he was younger. The nickname Reverend quickly got shortened to simply The Rev, a nod to his passion for spreading the word of religion, in his own fashion.
