Shootings and violence: Hall and his gang were not afraid to use violence to achieve their goals, resulting in several shootings and fatalities.

Rescues and escapes: Hall was known for his daring rescues of fellow bushrangers who had been captured by the police, and he also managed to evade capture himself on numerous occasions.
