In The Dark Knight, the Joker does not lie to Batman about where he has captured Rachel and Harvey Dent. He correctly informs Batman that Rachel is at one location and Harvey Dent is at another. However, Batman arrives too late to save Rachel, who is killed in an explosion orchestrated by the Joker.
