What happened with Don West and Mike Tenay?

Don West and Mike Tenay were partners in commentary for professional wrestling for many years. They worked for several wrestling promotions, most notably *Total Nonstop Action Wrestling* (TNA). In 2011, West and Tenay were released from their contracts with TNA by the company's new ownership group.

There are several reasons why West and Tenay may have been released. Some sources have reported that the new owners of TNA wanted to change the direction of the company and felt that West and Tenay were not a good fit for the new vision. Others have speculated that the decision was made due to financial constraints, as West and Tenay were the two highest-paid commentators in the company.

Since leaving TNA, West and Tenay have both continued to work in professional wrestling. West has worked for several independent wrestling promotions, and he also co-hosts a wrestling-themed podcast. Tenay has worked as a commentator for Ring of Honor Wrestling, and he also hosts his own wrestling-themed podcast.

In 2020, West and Tenay reunited to call matches for the *National Wrestling Alliance* (NWA). They have since continued to work together for the NWA, and they are currently the primary commentators for the promotion's weekly television show, *NWA Powerrr*.
