When and Where did the first comic strip appear?

The first comic strip is generally considered to be "The Yellow Kid", created by Richard F. Outcault and published in the New York World newspaper on February 6, 1895.

While there were earlier examples of cartoons with sequential panels, "The Yellow Kid" is considered the first strip to feature a recurring character, a recognizable style, and a narrative that ran across multiple panels. It was also a significant cultural phenomenon, popularizing the use of color in newspapers and influencing the development of the comic strip as a form of entertainment.
